Many insurance companies may reimburse part or all of the cost of a medical wig, also known as a cranial prosthesis, when hair loss is due to a medical condition such as chemotherapy, alopecia, or other medical hair loss conditions. Coverage varies by insurance plan.

HSA & FSA Accepted

We accept HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) for medical wigs with the following documents from your doctor:
• Prescription for Cranial Prosthesis
• Letter of Medical Necessity
• Diagnosis Code

Step 1:
Contact your insurance company and ask if your plan covers a cranial prosthesis.

Step 2:
Obtain a Prescription and a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor.

Step 3:
Purchase your cranial prosthesis from Healing Crowns Solutions. We will provide a medical invoice.

Step 4:
Submit the following documents to your insurance company:
• Prescription
• Letter of Medical Necessity
• Medical Invoice / Receipt
• Insurance Claim Form

Common Billing Codes
• A9282 – Wig, any type
• S8095 – Cranial Prosthesis

These are common billing codes used when submitting a claim for a cranial prosthesis.
